In the middle of the Mountains of Lesotho, we had the chance to visit accidentally a large regional event. The kindergartens of the region competed against one another. We attended the festival without great expectations. What we then experienced was terrific and left in our hard a lasting impression. Thousands of people have participated. The men were merely drivers and remained outside the fairground. The kids were the reason, they behaved very cautiously and quietly. The teachers and the mothers, they were the party. The ladies were extremely exuberant, they showed us what African joy is and how to show it. All were extremely neatly plastered, but what we liked most was their artistic hairstyles. There was always noisy loud music and the ladies danced while the protagonists sat quietly on their small plastic chairs. We were with a couple of friends the only white people and were allowed to make as many videos and photos as we liked. But we have also been engaged at least so many times as a model for their pictures. The planned quick visit finished as a full day. We left the celebration quite exhausted in the evening, while the party continued until late into the night.
